THE SELECTIVE
-
This project was the result of my senior thesis project in college, where I pitched a photography business with a hyper specialization in selective color photography. This magazine acts as a showcase of selective color portraiture, highlighting particle articles of clothing or accessories on a person

14 total models, one studio, and a lot of coordination in attire. My goal was to highlight a color on each person, with two people per color, giving me seven colors to work with. The highlighted colors could be as simple as the color of their shirt or bag, or something a bit smaller yet more personal, such as the highlights of their hair or the tint of their finger nails.
Once the photos were edited, they were laid out in some artistically designed spreads, with careful consideration for the person that page was highlighting. A lot of visual cues can be drawn from the individuals personality and background, making the process a bit more personal.

A finely printed magazine, showcasing fourteen vastly different single page spreads for each model. I printed a total of 16 of these magazines, so each model got their own copy, and I had two for myself to be shown off to friends, family, and employers.
This project highlighted my understanding of print arrangement, dynamic photography, fine art principles, and graphic design.
